Metro Home is a striking Windows Phone 7 inspired desktop widget for your Windows PC.

Metro Home is really nice to look at – if you’re familiar with the Metro style of Windows Phone 7, you’ll recognize the clear, blocky style. You can’t add or remove items from Metro Home – or turn off the animation - but you will be able to resize it and change the color to almost any you want.

The Metro Home widget tells you the date, time, temperature, 4-day weather forecast and a picture module. You can set your city and what units you want the time and temperature displayed in, but unfortunately you don’t seem to be able to change the picture. This is odd, as the murky green leaves don’t combine well with many of the possible color choices.

Metro Home is striking and informative. Even so, it is strangely inflexible, which is a pity. Despite this, many users will still be happy to have it on their desktop.
